A feed you compose
Follow people across the open networks. Build feeds from rules you can see and change — not an engagement machine guessing what will keep you scrolling.
Messages and mail, one inbox
A thread is a thread, whether it travels as end-to-end-encrypted Fauna messaging or as ordinary email at your own domain. Apple Mail and Thunderbird still work.
Calendar and contacts
Served over CalDAV and CardDAV, so Apple Calendar, Thunderbird and your phone sync natively.
Photos and files
A photo library and folder sync across your machines — at home in Finder, in Explorer, and in the Files app on your phone.
Backups that answer to you
Snapshots you can browse file by file, kept off-site on another server if you like. A friend storing your backup cannot read a byte of it.
Your own website
Flip a switch and publish at your own domain, from a folder you sync and the posts you choose.
Safety
On-device content scanning blocks content transparently. Governments can set rules for their region and parents for their children.

Fauna is in closed alpha. Apps for iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows, Linux, the web and the terminal are on their way. The source code will be released soon.
